Sheboygan Bands Project Vision

I've had this idea for years now and finally feel able to facilitate it in my new space. I'm hoping to do this annually as a way to document Sheboygan's music scene and showcase the Sheboygan music community. Assuming this first attempt goes well and everyone enjoys it, I would like to write a collaborative song that everyone involved can play a part in. I've written a lot of instrumental music and am excited about the challenge of writing a piece that blends the various genres that each band or artist embodies. I'll attempt that next year if there is as much interest as this year. It's been a bit too busy to make that happen this time.

We will make CDs and vinyl. Everyone involved can buy as many copies as they want at cost, to sell at shows or online for whatever price they want. I hope all the bands involved will enjoy participating and/or profit by selling the album and getting gigs. I'm hoping to have the album featured at Music Boxx and at the Sheboygan Visitor Center at some point, and would love JMKAC to support it somehow too. I'll be happy if I break even on the duplication costs. Musician's are getting a professional recording for free, and I'm donating my time. Bands get the master file and stems if they want it, so they can also release as a single or make derivative works as desired. I won't own any of the participant's material.

I see this as a project by the music community rather than my project, so I hope everyone who participates feels ownership in it. I also hope some of the musicians involved will want to work with me in the future, and feel welcome and aware of what the studio has to offer. Our local musical talent is rich. This project is a celebration of local musical artists.
